I just reloaded Origin, got the same pop-up AGAIN! Also, I had already turned everything OFF!. Meanwhile, I will just have to go through all the settings again to make sure I have everything off, which I thought I had already done. Hopefully, Origin gets better in the very near future. Anyway, it is a pisser, in the sense, IMO, that it is a forced advertisement for a game I have nothing to do with, or am even interested in. Also, it came up right when I loaded.Ĭricket, I guess you had Origin already running (in the task bar). I was just in the desktop, so nothing 'drastic' happened. Sure enough, I got the same pop-up that Cricket saw. OT: I just loaded Origin to see what would happen. BUT, as stated, I still cannot play the damn things. Yes, I should have just been able to install Origin, and my games be there for me to re-download, which they were not. ![]() The above, AFTER I had spent, on and off, about three weeks, and a few hours, searching and searching, uninstalling and reinstalling, which was really aggravating!Ī few weeks ago, Origin chat support did, however, help me get the games 'back', with only about one hour of semi-nonsense. ![]() I have to contact Origin and see if they will associate them with my BF2 player name.ĮA/Origin actually made it where there is no way to register them, because they are now free with the latest patch, v1.50. I just finally, as of yesterday, realized (learned) that I cannot play two BF2 booster packs because there is no way to register them online. I do know for a fact, though, that Origin is definitely going through some start up pains. I do not remember when I started using Steam, I mean, if it was already (somewhat) 'sorted out'. But if I can expect EA co-opting my screen at will then the program is going in the dust bin. I downloaded Origin because I had a few games through EA's old service and I thought I'd give them a chance in the same way I gave Steam and D2D. While I agree that those can be irritating and I should probably turn them off, they've never crashed my fucking games before. Sometimes while I'm playing a game there'll be a little pop-up informing me of certain deals available through the service. I'm used to the occasional notice from Steam. They just did a general broadcast over the system, apparently to every user, to provide information that could have been disseminated through pre-order emails. That notice, which crashed two programs, does not even apply to me in any way shape or form. To make matters worse, I haven't pre-ordered The Old Republic. Shogun 2 crashes to the desktop, Steam locks up completely and I'm left staring at EA's middle finger. That's a notice, from EA, inserting itself into my game that's running through Steam. ![]()
